New Years Updates

Sorry folk for not posting as much. The last few months have been pretty busy. As you can tell from prior posts, Margie and I are a couple. More than a couple, she is the ONE. I love her. Yes, Margie I love you, but you know that already. Every day has been a blessing, and wonderful. Our lives are blessed, and will continue to be blessed.

I will attempt to update more frequently, but 2006 will be a tremendous year for all of us and those that believe.

A Great Weekend

It has been an incredible week together. I can't imagine you not in my life. God has blessed both of us with so, so much. In one week, The best Week EVER, major things occurred, positive things. Everyday with you is magical and extra special. Your Wit & Humor, your singing voice, you beautiful eyes and smile.

Walking into the Christmas party with you will be an Honor, seeing you dance and cut up does my heart good. Just be yourself and keep the Big "G" in the picture and nothing will every go wrong. I promise. :)

My Personal Knee Surgery Updates

Well, followers of this Blog, know I had major Knee Surgery on 9-5-05. The pictures you see show the foot long erector set like object and 4 huge screws in my leg to support the knee injury. I am glad to report there have been no major complications in my recovery from Knee Surgery.

After 7 weeks I was walking and dancing, after 8 weeks I was walking without a cane, or assistance of any sort. I dance, I walk almost normal without a limp 80% of the time. The other 20% I attribute to normal old football leg and knee stiffness. I would have had that issue regardless of my leg being broken or the Knee Surgery.

All in all the Knee Surgery Recover has been a Complete success in my opinion. I was not supposed to be able to walk, move by this time, and Yet I have been having normal activity and many times forget I have the Bionic part in my leg. Knee Surgery Recovery is also mind over matter and faith in the healing powers of above.

The Happiest ThanksGiving Ever

This past Thanksgiving, was miraculous, marvelous, fantastic and totally awesome. Yes, I will tell you why. I was among new friends and an incredible lady for now know as M. M is gorgeous, can sing her tushy off, is a shining light. We connected, on all levels. I met her a short while ago, but knew instantly she was someone I needed to get to know better. The spark was there, the smile, the eyes they blew me away.

Thank God she had the same feelings for me. We had the best day, We laughed, we cried, we danced, we kissed. It was like we knew each other for years, instant connection.

That has never happened to me before, instantly, knowing, instantly feeling, instantly drawn like a magnet to her and her to me.

M i can wait until we see each other again, just to look into your eyes, just to see your smile, just to hold you again. :)

Trials, Tribulations, and the Accuser of the Brethern

This past week has been filled with major highs and major lows. It has been a roller-coaster ride of emotions, physical triumphs, and physical pain, it has been a week of financial distress, and extreme joyful laughter and banter, but also sadness. Hurtful sadness.

The pressure this week has been like a ton of bricks. I have had to make major decisions, that I wasn't prepared to make at the time, I have had to overcome obstacles that were thrown my way to trip me up, I have lost some battles this week, some battles that I should have won. Battles that under-nornal circumstances would have never been an issue.

(Weakness, Eric--just pure self-pity weakness!!!)- actually lack of faith

I was whittled down and deflated by a series of events, by recollections of the past, and by feelings.

I can't do it any longer, I spread myself to thin, give too much of myself, where pieces of me are left scattered across the battlefields of thought and minds and souls I encounter. Each time "Pieces of Me" are pulled, I lose another bit of confidence, another bit of self esteem and respect. I lose the parts of me that make me, ME!!

However!!!! I understand the spiritual battles that have been taking place. I understand the battle and the temptations and the forces attacking me.

By understanding, and recognizing, you actually have turned the "page" or the tide of that battle. By keeping your faith, or turning back towards your faith, you have the strength to overcome. I have turned away to long once again. I have let circumstances effect me, I have let, my faith waiver, when it is my faith that has brought me to the top of the mountain many times. It is my faith that has given me the authority and the power to accomplish those tasks.

Thank you Lord, thank you God. Thank you for sending the labors across my path to remove those seeds of doubt, to remove the darkness and to shed Light.

Been so busy with work, and rself-rehabbing the leg I haven't posted much. I have been helping a friend (as usual) with issues and circumstances.

Any way the Knee is moving well, I danced, and I sang last week. Each day is getting closer to the Day I go back and Dunk that basketball!!

'No Pain No Gain' May Not Be Good Advice

PHILADELPHIA - For David Kozlow, turning 40 was a major pain in the neck. And in the ankles, back, groin, shoulder and hamstrings.

A lifelong athlete who played high school lacrosse and college football, ran a 5:20 mile and bench-pressed 300 pounds, the attorney found himself approaching his 40th birthday with a laundry list of exercise-related injuries.

One of those ailments, a herniated disk in his neck, took two years of acupuncture and heat therapy to alleviate the pain.

"I still had the mind-set that I was in my 20s," he said. "It took a few years for me to come to the conclusion that I couldn't really do what I used to do, and I had to readjust my sights."

Getting older hurts — and when it comes to exercise injuries, doctors say that's more the case than ever before. Many are seeing increasing numbers of baby boomers with blown knees, sore backs, stiff shoulders and other complaints.

"The volume of people in their 40s, and even in their 30s, coming in with (knee) osteoarthritis is much higher than a decade ago," said Dr. Jess Lonner, director of knee-replacement surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. "It's a highly motivated generation that plays harder than a generation ago."

Sports injuries among baby boomers increased by 33 percent from 1991 to 1998, according to figures cited in a U.S.

The highest numbers of sports-related injuries came from bicycling, basketball, baseball and running, according to the consumer report. The most common injuries come from overuse and affect knees, ankles, lower back and shoulders.

Aging can't be avoided, but injuries can be. And doctors say that doesn't mean all avid joggers must hang up their running shoes, or lifelong basketball players must necessarily forgo the neighborhood court — it's all about exercising smarter.

"The old adage 'no pain, no gain' should be less relevant as we age than when we're younger," Lonner said. "It's a matter of being educated in how to exercise appropriately and what signs to look out for when exercising, like muscle soreness and joint pain."

For Kozlow, the solution was to switch from strenuous weightlifting to a workout that was gentler on muscles and joints. Now he does yoga and tai chi every day, strength training with light free weights and push-ups every other day, along with isometrics and elastic resistance bands. He also walks to and from work — about a 35-block round-trip.

"The goal was to be pain-free and to be fit without hurting myself," said Kozlow, who didn't rely on drugs or surgery to heal his injuries. "You have to readjust your mind-set and be more attuned to your body and its limitations, which can be hard to admit."

As we age, experts say, it's easier to get injured and it takes longer to heal sprains and strains. The physical changes and ailments that can come with age include loss of muscle mass, decreased bone density, diminished muscle and tendon flexibility, and joints less able to handle impact.

If the idea of exercise is to keep in top physical condition, hot-dogging it on mountain bike trails or trying to relive those varsity-letter glory days in "weekend warrior" style can be counterproductive, said Dr. Vonda Wright, clinical instructor in the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

"Many of us may still feel like we're 20, but we're not 20," she said. "Men come into my office with ruptured Achilles' tendons or muscle tears because they insist on doing the same things they did when they were much younger."

Doctors recommend a physical exam, including a cardiovascular work-up, for baby boomers looking to get active or stay fit. The results can be used to tailor an individual fitness program with the lowest injury risk.

"It all depends on the person. If you repeatedly get banged up by being on the basketball court, you should think about getting on a bike," Wright said. "There's a time to reconsider doing extreme sports, but there's never a time to stop being active."

Personal Comments: I have been participating in sports form the age of 6 through the age of 35, form 35-just before 40 I hung them up. In July of this year just before my 40th birthday I started playing basketball again, and was getting into pretty good shape and was moving like a 20 year old. I could wipe the floor with most of the people on the court, I just didn't have the full lungs back yet, but they were coming. Unfortunately the age and the degeneration of the left leg, was instrumental in the breaking of the bones in my knee. It was bound to happen.

Regardless, when this Leg finally heals totally form Knee surgery I will be back on the court. I will shoot, I will exercise and I will continue my incredible flexibility status. Below while the left leg was still with staples and in pain!!

this is not going to stop me

Standing on my Own Two Feet-and Walking -- After Knee Surgery!!!!

Yeah Yeah and a Triple Hell Yeah!!

I went to the Doctor today, for my scheduled appointment, He made me stand up, And walk without the Walker. First time I ever attempted it. Success!! I was walking!!!

I broke my leg and had major Knee Surgery on 9-5-05 - today is 10-20-05 Seven, 7 weeks Later I am walking!!! Hell Yeah!!!

I still have a road to recovery and a lot of Muscle building and training aspects to build up support for the Knee, but today was definitely an Uplifting experience!!! Just the freedom of walking and Moving without the Walker. In Seven WEEKS!!!

Yes, this is what's in my leg after the Knee Surgery for Support!!

Not Pretty is it!! But after the Knee surgery and these plates I am Walking in Seven WEEKS!!! Hallelujah and AMEN

Monday Morning -- How will you start your week?

As we walk our paths we must take time to reflect.

I have said this many times and I guess I need to make sure I say it again:

Our Words are the beginning of our existence.

What we speak,

We think,

what we think

We do.

If we are not pleased with our situations, then we must take steps to change it. Those steps start with our words, then with our thoughts and then finally with our actions. Words without actions are meaningless or Idle words.

Once we have said the "proper positive words" we must follow through with some action or step in that direction. If we don't then nothing has changed and nothing will change.

I have no patience for people that consistently wallow in their own existence, and don't realize they have the power, the true power to make a positive change for themselves and their circumstances just by their own words. Speak positively to the situation. Take steps and actions to change and the circumstances will change. It's the way things work. Do it!

Laying aroundr and constantly complaining, wallowing will solve nothing. Yes, I empathize, Yes I understand, Yes I have compassion, BUT there comes a point in time everyone must take action and take stock in their own situation and make the small steps to change.

Without those small steps NOTHING and I mean nothing is going to change. Even a Handout or some grandiose gesture by a stranger, will not change your situation, unless you change it in Your words, Your thoughts and Your Actions.

A Do Rag Rag, A Do Rag Day

As a former Collegiate Athlete, the Do Rag was part of an almost daily work out ritual. The "Do Rag" gave you a different mentality, it was putting on your "work" hat and getting down to serious business or the athletic event or work-out. It also had a duality meaning, it was for the chill-out phase as well.

Well this Saturday was a DO RAG DAY. My Boys ( UVA University of Virginia, didn't fair to well on the field against Boston College), my knee hit all time new pain levels of stiffness. Sleeping has become a hopeful but fading trend. If I can sleep more than a few hours it's an accomplishment. It's like i run my self down then am able to sleep for a 7-8 hour time period after a 2-3 day marathon awake period with intermittent 1-3 hour naps.

Anyway. DO Rag!! It's a life style, it's a mentality, it's that of an Athlete that needs to attack, adapt, overcome, and improvise. The Do Rag will be around for a bit, until I get this Left LEG back, and able to WALK!!

It's Friday..Like that matters to me. Every day is the same in the "Broken Leg World". From Lazy boy two gramma walker steps to either Bathroom or Bed. I am the Lead Dog here , but the view doesn't change :) My world / room is Bed, Bathroom and Not Beyond.

I planed to gramma walk for a simple few feet stroll this morning, but it's raining!

Lost, Losing, Lost Some More - 10-5-05

Tonight's ABC's episode of Lost---

We see the mighty castaways the skipper brave and sure..oops.

Have we now seen the same scene three weeks in a row? Where they are in the underground vault and the gun placed against the Bald Guys Head (Locke), Or is it just me?

We learn in this episode that Locke is even more obsessive then previously imagined. Giving up a true relationship (and nookie ) so that he can sit in the Beat up Red Beetle VW outside his "fake fathers" house in the middle of the night and stare!!

Why have to do work again? Resubmit it. Write one term paper in college turn it in for every subject! The trial and tribulations of ______. All you have to do is make a new title and cover sheet.

Nothing new for me, I have 100's of site. One day I guess I will list them all and attempt to link them all properly.

Anyway, The line "To Be or Not to Be, That is the Question" does that come from Romeo & Juliet or is that Macbeth or Hamlet?

I know the tragic hero is contemplating life and uses that line, the line is famous. I read Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth and Hamlet for that matter at a sophomore in high school um 20 plus years ago.

...Just a Rat in a cage...

It's been one full month since the "Breakage"!! My life which was once and usually pretty active, has been transformed into a one room cell. One bed, one lazy boy recliner, one table one computer, on bathroom one gramma walker and a distance of less than 7 feet to travel from bed to bath room.

So Yeah I am a rat in a cage, stuck in this maze, until this injury heals and I can move. The last full time I was out of this room was to go to the doctors. After that visit, My "good leg" was feeling the stress, the foot on my "broken Leg" began to swell, and the entire ordeal took a lot out of me psychically.

I am not in bad shape, I am flexible, It's the different use of muscles doing things you normally wouldn't thing about, but with a broken leg everything is slower, more defined, more strenuous.

I am so determined to WALK and want to be able to get out of this confinement, I am going stir crazy. :)

The problem is it's not time yet, and any activity I do will just cause a further delay in the grand scheme of things. I plan to walk before the month is over. The prognosis is Christmas way to far away.

All the Plans....I need to walk ASAP...I need to be able to get on a plane. I need to be able to talk to clients face to face. I need to be able to work normally to pay off the HUGE medical bills.

I will..Walk by the end of the MONTH

I will have the money for both the Medical Bills and Hawaii

There it's done. It's Settled. It will happen. Aloha!!!

As a blogger or a writer, we post our words, we willingly expose ourselves and open a little bit of our Heart, Mind and Soul with every word we publish. We hope our words are perceived in there true intentions and do invoke the feelings and emotions in which they were intended.

Our words of encouragement, are probably the most powerful. We put a piece of ourselves in those words. Each time we offer encouragement a little bit of our soul leaves us and is attached to those words. It is that soul attachment that effects the intended reader. It is that endearment that makes the words move in the heart of that intended reader. It is such and awesome feeling when our words are received in there intention. When we can see the fruits of our words, spring forth life, hope and joy into the lives of there intended.

I have had many occasions to help people in the past, many occasions to be the ONE person that they could count on. I have had many occasions where I am the listener, I am the comforter, I am the shoulder and the beast of their burden. It is the words and the gentle nature of the countenance or soul that makes the difference.

Words.. they last...they have meaning....they are important and not Idol.... when the words escape or are lost. so is the Man behind them.

Kevin Bacon Center of the Universe? Yes I am connected

Years ago, Tommy P introduced me to the Kevin Bacon Movie Game. Supposedly it's a take off of the 6 Degrees of Separation Theory. Whereas each and everyone is connected to someone else within 6 degrees of separation. I.e. my mothers Brothers wife's sister etc etc etc. Blah Blah Blah.

In the Kevin Bacon Model you would pick any actor or actress and attempt to link that person back to Kevin Bacon using movies with other actors until you got a connection with a person that was in a movie with Kevin Bacon.

Well, my University, The University of Virginia, years ago came up with a computerized version using the Internet Movie Database.

Not just another Manic Monday

Our Work Week begins....

Jump out of bed as the alarm clock makes that terrible hissing screeching noise of a radio station not in tune, notice that you have less time than normal to Shower, get dressed, get coffee and a small bit, jump into the car, fight the traffic and get to work just in time for a pile of work to catch up on and deadlines to meet and pressure.......

Opps, I work for myself..Don't jump out of bed, don't have to deal with traffic or a boss besides my conscious.

With the broken leg, here is my day as it begins:

Wake up, Pee into a cup, place cup back into it's secured non-spill position. Crawl forward towards end of bed. Use long stick to turn on the light. Place hands on trusted gramma walker, pull myself up. Gramma walk two steps to the Lazy Boy recliner. Shake the mouse on the computer to get it out of sleep mood. Open email... Start working!!

Hell of a commute I had. Let me tell you, that 5 feet took me forever, I mean if people would just learn not to..... ( LOL )

I am a business consultant. I build websites. I have clients in which I teach them Search Engine Optimization, I write content for websites, I sell products over websites, I manage projects for websites.

All of this allows me to work from home and set my own schedule and hours.

So Monday beings, How many cups of coffee so far? Was the commute this morning? Did the boss bring in stale donuts, and all the good ones with filling are already gone? Did the copy machine and fax machine already go bezerk? Did the weird office co-worker already approach you this morning and bug you? Ever think, If you don't have a weird office co-worker, you just might be the weird office co-worker? Did you boss give you a weird look this morning, but say nothing? Humm, Humm and Hummm.

As I sit here broken leg and all, bed head hair, and type my daily rant, I don't miss the Office aspect one bit.

Now time to work on some client cases and make about 50 phone calls. Seems me and the Phone have always been "working", it's just a matter of where I sit and what clothes I have on and if I have to drive 30-45 minutes to sit in an office before I can make phone calls. Humm

The "Lost" Review and Dishing the Dirt ---9-30-05

Not that I am one to watch a lot of TV, but I do enjoy a few programs. "Lost" on ABC is one of them. My nephew turned me on to the show. SO I confess I am a "LOST GEEK"

Bare with me.

After watching every Episode from the first season and having caught all the episodes form this season all I can say is, "What the Frack is going on? " I watch an Hour of a show and I learn basically nothing. Yeah thanks for the mini back story of character development and like I need to know that information and it's vital to the story line --- NOT!!

So, Pippen, ( the dude form lord of the rings) has a heroin problem, was in a band, etc etc Blah Blah Blah.

The "Beautiful Beverly Hillbillies brother sister incest Act" like I need to hear more details of that and her fricken problems for 40 minutes of the show. Go give Siad (the Iraqi stud) some loving already.

The Prego Aussie Whinny Bimbet, we know you are having a baby. Already!!! We get it. We don't need 30 minutes about that constantly. At least she finally had it. and It was stolen, and it was recovered. Those damm "others" can't they keep well enough alone!!

I try to write at least one thing a day, sometimes more, sometimes I write too much. It's part of me, it's my nature, it's my vice, it's my passion, it's my nemesis. it's my ego, my ethos, my logos, my pathos.

Recently I have rediscovered some old friends.

Marie D, from Northern Virginia. She reads my blob via my Yahoo feeds. ( it you need the feed code email me).

Trish M, from the great state of New Hampshire or one of those worthless New England states that's not Massachusetts, with their 3 electoral college votes that don't matter (joke -they may have 2 electoral college votes - lol) Trish has a blog her link is on the side --->

I could name many more, but let's make them jealous shall we, and make them post a comment.

I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis. Many of them business and professional, but many of them personal as well. I think the personal ones are the best. The ones that are REAL, the ones they express themselves and their lives vividly and with emotion.

There so many times I want to post on their blogs a word of encouragement. so word of Hope, a message of just that they are not alone, that someone hears them. That someone has read their words and can also understand their emotions and feelings. Not that I am involved or anything, just that I understand, just that someone is listening, and that there words are not just Idol. WORDS are Never IDOL!!

Words move Mountains. Words are the source of all true power. Use your words carefully. Use your words skillfully. Use your words to uplift, for positive outcomes, to inspire, to invoke joy and laughter, or be a ray of light in an other wise dark existence. Use your words for their true righteous power, their beneficial existence, their true and awesome, and wonderful miraculous power. Words Heal, Words cause pain, Words Create, Words destory.

How do you want your Words to be perceived and do you use your words for the best possible outcome? Are your words positive and invoke peace love and joy? Or the opposite. Are your words Optimistic or pessimistic?

Humm... Interesting Title Eric, Isn't that a title to a book?

I never truly know what I will right about until I open the blank document and put my big Ass typo inducing former football playing hand to the keyboard. Hopefully it will be on target and on topic, because I rarely edit. I will run it through spell check once, by that's about it folks. Love Labors Lost, what the heck.

Love

I guess I must write about LOVE then. What an interesting topic, the thing that does truly drive us all. LOVE. We search for it, we seek it, we desire it, we covet it, we want it, we long for it. When we have it, we neglect it, we abandon it, we take it for granted, we abuse it.

What a strange thing. This LOVE. I have Loved with all my heart many a time, only to have it shattered and broken. It is said that I wear my heart on my sleeve. It's true. It's self-evident. It's pure and it's honest. It's intense at times, but still honest.

Where is this Going Eric? No clue yet. Still a lot of empty white space here and it's only 2:45 AM.

Labors.

Daily we attempt to accomplish tasks that provide the necessary monetary income in order to maintain our existence. We Work. How we work and in which venue is always different, but the concept is the same. If we don't enjoy our work, then it is a struggle, the Labor becomes A LABOR or burden. If we work for someone that has absolutely no CLUE as to the value of a dollar nor the how to treat with respect their employee, then the work day is even more hideous. Luckily I am self employed. I am not burdened by the Yokes of Bondage that was once Hovered over me, and the lack of respect for the things I accomplished and maintained on a daily basis. Oh well, time will prove one way or another, the value of the work.

In my current self employed status I reap the full benefits of my efforts on a daily basis. I work with clients and always strive to give them more than what they paid for. In my approach to business, My reputation is everything, my Word is my Bond, and I will always Over Deliver. I want my clients to think of me first then next time someone asks about my specialties or for them to refer their associates and friends to me for my services. That my clients are proud of the work I have done for them and would gladly endorse, my working for others. There testimony and referral are the livelihood of my business.

I am thankful for the opportunity to help other people achieve their goals, and make an honest living at the same time.

Lost.

Lost youth, Lost love, Lost patience, Lost time. Lost the ABC TV Show that makes no sense on a weekly basis.

We have all Lost things, friendships, relationships loved ones and objects. Loss unfortunately is a part of life. It is however extremely important in how we deal with loss that effects our future and our current. Losing a loved one, is probably the hardest emotion and feeling to deal with. It is gut wrenching, it is grief, it is grieving, and pain.

If we realize that loss is a part of life, then it may make it a little easier, If we can see that there is a reason, a time and a season, than maybe the loss is less. If we can have faith that the loss is actually a blessing for the one that went away, then it isn't a total loss, but a future beginning.

Lost, Loss, the loss of Love, or unrequited love has got to be the hardest, the constant reminder that the one you love will not be with you.

How do you deal, how should you deal? It is not ours to reason why. Love is a strange and wonderful as well as heartache inducing. Time will determine the other come. Not the words or actions of the current. As Long as the words and the action are pure, then they can remain in that state. The words and the Actions can grow from that state. The don't need substance, they grow because they are pure. Sometimes they grow so much that the LOVE takes over and the story book ending insures. Sometimes it happens, someday it happens, someday it will happen.

For to Love is not a labor of ones mind, but a luxury of ones heart. Lost is the innocence of the initial encounter. Lost is the romance of the first glance and sound that others voice and face. Love is the emotion and feeling of utter and pure caring and thoughts for the ONE. The one and only true one that understands. It is not a labor, it is not a Loss or Lost when we Love.

Love is a many splendor thing. Like pieces of a puzzle that come together to form a beautiful picture. Who has the other pieces and what will that picture reveal. Time will tell. Time always tells :)

Is today the Day you choose to make a change? Personal Growth and Choices

Everyday is a brand new day, a new day of trials and tribulations or a new day of opportunity. Everyday is a chance to make a major or even a minor change in our lives for the better. Each and Everyday it is OUR choice to make. Our Choice to either move forward, set a goals, accomplish a goal, or just be stagnate.

When we keep our mind on a goal, and focus and visualize that goal, plan the steps to achieve that goal. Take action to achieve that goal. That goal now becomes easier to accomplish. It's not as far off as it seemed. Each day as we work and make simple strides towards our goal, we get closer, closer to the end and final desired result.

"If we choose not to decide, we still have made a choice"

How true. By not taking any action steps, or even a simple decision our choice has now become acceptance of our current situation and reality. If our reality is wonderful, Fantastic, but then I am sure there are still things to improve upon and strive for.

Life is about growth. Intellectually, spiritually, personally, mentally and physically.

Growth is a good thing. Everyday I learn something new. I will always want to learn, I will always want to grow. I learn by listening to others, I learn by reading what others have said, I learn by experiencing new things, I learn by the simplest things. I learn by just listening, truly listening.

Is anyone constantly happy with their environment, their surroundings, the world in which they live? I am sure even the Happiest camper has a complaint about something. But, if that Happy camper all they do is complain and take no action, their happiness soon fades. Do you disagree?

What are you going to do today to make a change for the better? Quit Smoking? Lose Weight? Pray? Start a Business? Help a Neighbor or friend? Teach a child? Accept your responsibilities? Donate your time or money?

Make a choice today. Make a positive change. Do something to improve your life or that of someone else. Make a difference. Set a goal. Be active in your life, a Stagnate existence is nothing more than a slow road to nothingness. Make a choice!!

Impressions-Our Judgement-Our choices

In this world we are judged by many facets. How we represent ourselves, how we treat others, how we effect our relationships, and how we interpret our surroundings and the actions we take.

The judgment of others should not be our concern, especially if we hold ourselves up to higher standards. "Don't judge lest ye be Judged," is a biblical and kingdom principle. However, at times that is taken out of context.

If our brethren, our beloved, or friend, our confident, our lover, is on a path of destruction, is making untimely and ill fated decisions, irrational choices, It is our duty, right, obligation, saintly responsibility to not only pray over them but to encourage them with words actions and deeds to straighten their path, resolve their dilemmas, and return to a standard in which they and you are accustomed.

If they chose to stay on there path, then we must abide by their free will and "Shake off the Dust" and let them be, for we cannot let their path cause us to lose our path. We shall not be lead into temptation, rather we shall strive to walk our path, our life, our destiny.

When we meet someone for the first time and impression is formed. It is our Nature, however that the impression is usually superficially based, social-economically motivated and stereotypically formed. Our mind gathers data, and associates that data with events, information, and circumstances of our own personal experiences. Hopefully, the impression and our mind's past experiences gather and show a positive light upon the first impression.

Many times it does not. Our memories, which invoke feelings, are land mines or seeds of negativity. We make the value judgment based upon our personal history, rather then new factual information.

I strive not to judge or prejudge, but I am aware of the nature of the human mind, and the nature of people. Being aware of the minds interpretations, and the relevancy of the data processing through one's mind, I always strive to put my best foot forward. I attempt to treat each individual with the respect in which I would like to be treated. Hopefully leaving a good impression.

If we treat others with respect, and show them the way, maybe they can do the same. Maybe they can make a difference in someone else's life. A small change, that leads to an another change, and so on.

I guess the reason I am ranting or pontificating over this subject, is that we are constantly Judged, we are consistently in the eyes of the public and even more so on the Internet. I do not hide behind a Username. I boldly go forth, full steam ahead with my Name as my reputation, strength and only true value. My word is my Bond.

With the Internet we have the ability to View our Internet history with a simple search feature. How many people have Googled there names to find unflattering information?

The technology is only getting better. Each Data packet associated with our name, will be associated with our name for years to come. Even hiding behind a Username, with not provide true anonymity. There is a relevance of data that ties the username through sources to your real name. Quite simply the age of Big Brother is upon us Loudly and Clearly.

Knowing that, living that, one would be wise to chose their words wisely. Or Like me, having always attempted to chose my words wisely, and holding myself up to a higher standard, a biblical standard, not worry about it.

I am already above the fold, Hopefully, and the negative things aren't truely negative. You will find millions of spelling mistakes, typo's and grammar errors associated with my name, but I doubt one would find or rarely find a case where I don't attempt to put my best foot forward.

(Not the broken one :) )

Do you put your best foot forward at all times? Are you aware of your actions and words and how they effect others? Is your name and reputation, what you want it to be? If it isn't are you willing to make a turn around today?

I know things might seem down, with your recent Medical developments. You have J., you have friends, you have family and most of all you have that inner strength of a true survivor.

Your health problems, I know and I have faith will be resolved. Your condition WILL get better. You WILL seen a manifestation of a true miracle of God's Hand.

Daily your situation WILL improve, your inner strength, faith and belief and the prayer of others WILL make all the difference. I am so Proud of YOU for accomplishing the things you have accomplished in the past five years. I am happy that you are in a stable and Loving relationship. You deserve the it, girl !!

Now, Stop any negative thinking, Keep focused on your goal of True Medical miracles and break through. Invoke that inner spirit, that true TRISH M. Survivors' heart, that true Trish ability to overcome all obstacles, that true Trish strength and determination!!!

I can see you now, standing there on the alter with J. by your side, totally Healed (in Jesus name) and Happy, Filled with Joy and smiling ear to ear!!!

The day I met Marie, Cica 1995 ish ( me-thinks)

It was a brisk, end of Summer Saturday in St. Johns Woods Apartment Complex in the South side of Richmond. Saturday, Sunny, only meant two things, Pool and Cookout. The cook out on this occasion was at friends named Colby & Dawn. They were from the Baltimore area, and had recently moved into our little Peyton Place.

Colby's turn for the bash; he did it up right, Keg of beer, food galore and Oysters. The whole gang was there, too many to mention and wouldn't even attempt, for the possibility of leaving out a main character. ( but this is my memory so there :) !! )

Tommy P. (main character 1) came on bye the cookout, we caught up and exchanged our normal one liners and movie quotes and general shoot of the sh*t. The T man, Tsunami Tommy, all a buck 150 of him, mentioned that a friend from NOVA and college might stop in, and play with us. By play with us I mean hang out shoot the sh*t and sing some songs and drink some beers as the sun sets over the trees of the St. John's woods apt complex. It happened a lot, I mean the singing stuff, Yes the sun sets everyday, Duh.

I digress and will not mark the tangents, you must keep up for yourself, if you can't then there is a blog called shortbus-reading-skills.com somewhere. Sorry about that, the mind wanders in circles, short bus..LOL.

From the distance, the air stood still, a wake or void was created, as this vision of loveliness approached. Being the Top Dog and largest Male present. This angel approached me, and asked if I knew Tommy P. ( that's not how it happened dude..come on..she walked in with TP and you were introduced)... I digress, she spoke, her voice carried though the air waves and gently, softly entered my being, her words were powerful, yet sincere, and forthright.
( dude she said Hello)....

As the day progressed this angel Marie continued to intrigue, impress and totally engulf the atmosphere with her style grace and beauty. The songs were about to be sung, the beer was flowing nicely, the ( the BS is getting Deep -too) .

I digress again, As Tommy P, Marie D, and ME, hung out and talked and got acquainted and reacquainted as the case may be, a friendship was formed. Marie was the BOMB, the Sister of the Mac Daddy!! She was the Shiznitz before the was a Shiznitz!!

The point of this story is the PEARL, No BS :) I rarely ate Oysters at the time. But on this occasion why not. I picked up my first Oyster, opened, plopped it in my mouth, tasted ok, but wait..what the Frack, what the Heck,...Something strange, is in my mouth, and almost choked on a rock or something, it was disgusting,
Yet...it was a PEARL.
a nice almost perfect Pearl,
nice size, would make a perfect........Gift for my New Friend Marie D. She was an angel, and what do you give an angel, but another miracle, a Pearl. It was poetic, it was celestial, it was magical. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship..

Play it again sam!! I am the hopeless romantic.

Cica 1999-2000 ish, I was fascinated along with millions of Americans with Survivor. You know the TV show, where "The tribe has spoken" and that Gay Naked Guy Rich won the Million Dollars. Yeah that show. Whenever that was, I came across a Fledgling new Website about survivor. Let's just call it SB. I helped form that community along with a few other people. I made some great friends back in the day. My name on that Forum community and Chat room was BadAs or BA for short.

It was an awesome community were everyone initially respected each other. I was "Julie the cruise directory" and made sure everyone felt welcome. My Friend Erica R ( Ebug) took over those duties for me :) That forum was fun, comedy and writing, and laughs, and emotional bonds were formed. I wrote many a humorous tale in the day, and entertained many a numerous people in the Cyber Bar we created.

Waves at LadyT ( trish), we talked for hours and you were a true friend..Still are.. I found you again. Ebug ( Erica R) Still funny--- Eddie Izzard says Hello buggy..we got a maneuver named after you. Superman ( Chris) Dude...You are always a Top 10 in my book...You got skills.

The people I haven't found were "Vampkira", Paul AKA is still around, he is a mod at that forum, but he was the hall monitor, the principle, the guy that could only joke so far. He was Daddy to us bunch of lunatics on a fringe :)

I guess the point of this Rant, is that even though time has passed, Life has dealt us many different cards and paths have been chosen that took each and everyone in a different and obsequious direction. There you guys are just a BLOG away. Amazing, simply amazing.

It's amazing how just a few words from someone you really care about makes all the difference in the world. The know you for you, really know you, and know what makes you tick, they know the back stories, they just plain GET YA!!

Luckily for me, their is such a person. I am so thankful for that person, especially now that I am "Broken." Without that person things would be even more difficult. The thing is, I have never met this person face to face. I have never seen them, But we talk on the phone when we can. We work together when we can via website development projects. We laugh together about stupid stuff, and we laugh together about really serious rough stuff.

You see this person is extremely special. Totally awesome. One day soon we will meet. I need my Hug!!

One Week From the Broken Leg-Knee and 9-11

Wow.

One full week of inactivity, recovery, loneliness, struggle, Determination, Pride, Selfishness, ignorance, arrogance, Depression, Strength, Prayer, Salvation, Loneliness, self-doubt, etc., etc., etc.

But there for the Grace of God Go I.

September 11,

9-11 when the US and the world instantly changed. Evil took a Giant leap forward. Evil overcame. Many lost lives, love ones, mothers, father, sister, brothers. The Loss was instantaneous. The Katrina Hurricane, and the tsunami were also both tragic and Loss was enormous.

I guess I am not in that bad a shape, I have a roof over my head, food to eat.

I need to get work done however, which has been a struggle. I need to be able to focus on Business, and leave the pain, leave the personal, and leave everything behind. If I don't get back on track, then the problems grow deeper and the hole gets larger and the Broken Leg/Knee factor become even more insurmountable. Faith...Faith... I need Faith...... I need focus.....I need Focus...I need Determination.....I need " " ..........................

5-12 weeks to go

Supposedly, 10 days (Sept 21) until first post operation check-out, to find out the prognosis.

Originally 6-8 weeks before I can even think about walking.

I took half- a pain pill early Saturday (late Friday - because I couldn't sleep) It knocked me out for basically 12 hours, and left me with a migraine type headache behind my right eye, groggy, can't think straight etc. I don't do pain pills, they do more harm than good in my opinion. I stick to the simple Tylenol OTC 250-500 mil.

My prior Goals are they still applicable being Broken?

Can I achieve them Financially being Broken with the added expenses?

Can I overcome the pain etc to do the necessary work?

Can I count on others to pull more weight, since I am broken and will they?

I made promises... I gave my word....

I have been through many ringers since July. Many trials, many tribulations, but this one is the hardest, it is my personal HELL of not being able to move.. run, jump, dance, mingle, socialize, shake hands, communicate, interact, network, make business happen, testify, help others. I guess it's harvest time, and call in all the seeds of faith..................

I don't expect anyone to understand this post but many one or two....

Taking the simplest things for Granted- No Longer With an Injury

If you frequent this blog, you know I broke my Left leg over this past Labor Day Weekend.

Sunday 9--4-04 to be exact. Surgery, bone graft, two metal plates bunches of screws, 23 if I counted right staple stitches.

I was released on Wednesday around 5:30 PM, finally.

I guess the point of this blog post, is the fact that even the simplest things like standing up is an ordeal. Taking a shower this morning took me about 20 minutes of planning, and getting situated prior to the first drop of water even coming out of the faucet. Simple things like going to the bathroom are extremely hard to maneuver with a broken leg. I have had a sprained ankles before and knew things would be tough, but I didn't remember exactly how hard or time consuming it would be.

Each day things will get easier as I perfect my techniques, and the leg become a little less swollen and painful. But for know. each an every task is a battle of wills, of balance, of position, of ability, to accomplish. Even laying in bed attempting to sleep, is a task. The leg must be in a certain position as not to strain the ligaments and be painful, which of course is the exact uncomfortable position for me to sleep.

I refuse to take the Pain Killer they prescribed. I want a clear head and sound mind. If at night I cannot sleep, then I might take on of the Pain pills, because I know it will knock me out. I would rather deal with the pain, channel the pain, work through the pain, then to be beaten by the pain and use a heavy duty pain killer. An Over the counter Pain killer, like one would use for a headache, that's ok..I will take one or two of the 250-350 milligrams to take the edge off.

I remember an old friend Marie, who I know read this blog, had the Quote one day over 8-10 plus years ago, her motto was "NO PAIN, NO PAIN" meaning give her the drugs so as to not feel it. My Motto Today is the same, "NO Pain, NO Pain," meaning however that no need for the drugs to clear the pain. SO I guess I should modify the motto to "No Drugs wanted, NO PAIN".

Basically, this Broken Leg is going to be a 6-8 week ordeal. There are many things I will have to re-learn to accommodate my new circumstances, and limitations. There are going to be many down times when the pain factors will be high, from just simple movements, There will be times, when I self- rehab extensively were the pain will be most intense, but that will be for the good,, There will be many times that I will feel lonely, because I am stuck into a world that is no larger than an extended box, or one room with bed and bath, because of my limitations. Each day knew things will present them selves, New challenges will arise.

Each Day I will attempt to handle that which is put before me, based upon my current conditions.

My Business has suffered, because I cannot "Go Out" and make the contacts and sales, and do some of the physical things I need to do, but I must adjust, and hope that I can gain new clients online or through contacts, rather than my face-to face meetings.

Each day is up to me to make it a positive day or a negative day, each day is up to me to face the challenges ahead and take them on one at a time, and accomplish, preserver, adapt and overcome.

Just like the Old Coach Used to say..Improve, improvise, adapt, preserver, Overcome!!!

Yeah Coach.. Big E's got the Play-Book memorized!!

The KNEE...and Labor Day and Faith

Sunday of Labor Day Weekend September 5, 2005. I decided to get a little exercise and shoot some basketball, before heading to a cookout. Little did I know Life would take a serious turn at that Juncture.

After shooting around for about 30 minutes, fully stretched and warmed up, I did a simple cross-over spin move fade away jumper. Done it thousands of times, sank it thousands of time, it was one of my signature moves. We one this day, at this moment in time, everything cooperated but my left knee. The knee Buckled. I went down. No big deal, happens many times when you play a sport, however this time, I couldn't get up. I couldn't put any weight on the leg. I didn't hear a Pop, Didn't feel like an ACL, could have been a small muscle tear, but the pain started strong. I hopped to my car, I drove home, I crawled into the house.

This all happened around 7:30 PM Sunday Night. Around 9:00 PM I decided it was necessary to go to the emergency room. The Pain was getting overwhelming. I have a high tolerance of Pain, have played Hurt before etc. But this was a New Level of Pain, something wrong Pain. My mother Drove me to the Emergency Room, at SouthSide Regional Medical Hospital in Petersburg. Closest but never 1st choice. I figure I had a tear, wanted an X-ray, and an opinion and maybe a painkiller.

When I arrived at around 9:45 the place was packed. Once gentleman in the parking lot, helped me out of the car, and into a wheel chair. (Thank you again sir). As I was wheeled in another gentleman ( Robert I believe) offered His wheel Chair to me, since his chair had the ability to lift the Leg. "Robert" was in a bad shape as well, he stated he was 56 years old, a former vet and basketball player, but he offered up his chair to me, then insisted, He hobbled up, while in pain and showed me such genuine kindness that I had to accept. He then took an ace bandage off his own Leg and wrapped mine. Thank You Lord, than You GOD, for that reassurance and kindness and Love of a stranger when in Need. There but for the grace of God, go I, and this man in more dire straights then me, is nursing me. Thank you "Robert" than you Lord for another dose of Faith.

I was in severe agonizing pain, around 11pm I was called into the paper work area, to make sure I could be admitted, you know the drill. At that very point I started to "work a Miracle", I started to pray in tongues, I started to pray out right, my entire attitude had changed. I was determined with God's will to prove a point. to change attitudes, to testify, to Hopefully Walk and dance right out of that wheel Chair 100% Healed.

Well, I had no pain, I was singing and laughing in the chair, waiting to prove God's Will. I was called back into "triage" they asked a bunch of questions, I answered honestly. "on a scale of 1-10 what was your level of pain when you got here" 10, on a scale of 1-10 what is your pain level now" 1. They took my blood pressure. 129/82 almost perfect. I am 6-4, 315 pounds, former College football Player. Big_E.

Around 3:30 AM I finally got through the process of several x-rays, scans etc. They told me I had broken the "patella bone" that connects the Shin bone to the Knee Joint. Apparently I shattered that!!! In 3 places. Surgery, Metal Plates, Screws Etc would be Needed.

Ok. So they were about to Admit Me for Monday Surgery. The Finally asked me if I needed a Pain Pill? You see I have a Broken Leg, But I guess Since I wasn't crying in agony they didn't think it was severe as it was. The nurses and Doctor wanted to give me something. Morphine, Codine, Oxi-Contine For the Pain I SHOULD BE IN. I told both Nurses, just give a me a 200 ML OTC Advil for the Headache I have. There is no pain with the "broken Leg". I showed them my ability to take the right leg and touch my nose and top of my head. I told them I was an athlete, and knew my body and that God was on my side.

I am supposed to be immobile for 6-8 weeks, can't put any weight on the left leg, and must use a walker to move short distances.

I was finally able to leave the hospital at 5:30 Wednesday. The ordeal was an ordeal, there was good and bad. I met some really nice people along the way, and hope my presence and circumstances will turn out for the best. God Willing

I Blew out my "KNEE"....

have to get to the doctor/ hospital if the pain continues.( most instense pain I had in awhile- can't put any weight on the leg) Icing it, elevating it, taking some OTC pain killers. Doesn't seem like ACL. Didn't hear a pop, felt more like when I turn an ankle, but it buckled.

Will wait til tomorrow, to see how it is, no reason to spend and do the whole hospital thing, if all they are going to do is the same thing I am doing now. X-ray will reveal all, but I will wait, I guess til tommorrow.

this happened around 7pm today. Took me awhile to get home and feel comfortable enought to even move a few feet.

Hopefully it will take care of itself, but I it might be the "big one" 6-8 weeks cast etc. and the scope :(

30 Second Nuggets

It has been a very interesting week so far, in regard to conversations, stories, interludes, and chance meetings. I have plenty of background information to write novels, or short stories, or even simple articles based upon revelations, factoids, simple 30 second nuggets of information passed on this week.

However, the majority of the information is not to be shared publicly, most of it was heart felt, honest and true. Those types of conversations make up the foundation of a friendship or relationship. It's the honesty, integrity, feelings, emotions, compassion, and truthfulness that make them special, that make those moments in time, an endearing statement into our very existence. Each of those moments are so precious, kind and thoughtful, that to release them would be to lose them, nor would one want to otherwise. Those moments in time, those simple pleasures of intimate conversations, the bonding moments, and other simple rekindling moments of friendship are all special.

I wouldn't trade those moments for anything, and a glad that they are now a part of me.

The writer in me is stuck!! A block Even-so-- Comedy must prevail

It's been awhile since I had a writers block. I have been trying in vain to just Write, type something. I have projects that normally take me less than an hour to write up, and have set there in a blank stare for hours, days.

Destiny Basketball, has helped, just moving in the ZONE, going with the flow has seemed to help.

But like Destiny Basketball, I think Comedy must prevail.

So let me tell you a story, this one is true, they are all true. I am not sure which story is about to come out, as I type these little keys with my "Big ASS Typo inducing hands," but something has to give, something has to come out....hummm which one.. Ah yes. The comedy, the entertainer, the man with the plan, the guy who gets the job done, but still has room to laugh at him self.

Thursday night, Karaoke.

Let me preference this with my love to sing, but my total lack of any given vocal talent. I can dance, they say, I can do a lot of things, but vocally singing, is a far, far away stretch. I am no William Hung, but No Bono or Mick Jaguar either. I can do dialects and impressions, but singing is not my specialty.

As I digress again. Let me reset the stage. I am a former College Football Player, Lineman. I am Big. My term has always been, " I am a Gentleman and a School Bus". Well, I has enough guts, courage, determination, Heineken, to redo an old song of the past. I put in my request. Big_E was called up to the stage. Me and Microphones are no strangers, but singing over one, rarely if ever is done. I called out my "druugges", some of my boys, the Lads with talent, I needed Back ground singers and some support. Billy, Scotty Fred and Demetrius came to my aid. Billy and Scotty have real talent. Fred and Demetrius, can sing.

The song. Aretha Franklin's, "You make me feel like a natural women" . Let's refresh the stage, Big E singing lead, scotty helping on lead, a duet even at times. Billy, Demetruis and Fred doing the background vocals. Yes, it was entertaining. The audience seemed to enjoy the show. LOL. It was hilarious. Not many times will you get the shock and awe and the ability to make fun of yourself in a grandiose manner. ( On Purpose!! )

The background story:

You see, Saturday night, I told Tommy Pearson I would go see his Band open. Hedley Lamar http://www.hedleyrocks.com They Rocked by the way. I hadn't seen nor talked to Tommy in over two years, but Tommy P is one of those friends, that you can pick up the conversation exactly were you left off at any point in time and continue like the time didn't matter. A No harm, No Foul type of Friend. I actually saw Tommy and the Band the night before. We have a common interest in Movie's and Music. He's "Jay to my Silent Bob" - "Snoochie Boochie, Brother Nouche!" As we were catching up he introduced me to his new band members, Tommy's quote, " I remember the last time we talked, and "Angie by the Rolling Stones" was playing on the Car radio, as I pulled out of the Parking lot. I am willing to bet, that Angie was playing on the Radio as "E", drove up. It's like time stood still and we picked up the conversation like nothing happened in between". How true!! LOL, Not sure if "Angie" was playing or that was the verbatim song of the quote, but close enough for IRS government work, ( Right T? ).

Tommy mentioned in passing that an old friend of ours Marie, might be driving down from Northern Va, to catch up with Tommy and see the show. I didn't give it to much credence. However I was happily mistaken. :)

Anyway, this past Saturday Night, I promised a new friend, Renee B. (a one week old friend) that I would pick her up and meet her new Boss and Friends over at my old hang out. Rock Falls Tavern. I said I would, and confirmed over the phone. Seconds after I got of the phone with Renee B. Out of no where, like the clouds opened up and my old angel Marie appeared.

She just appeared. On my right, with a huge smile on her face. A total vision of loveliness. Nothing needed to be said. I just kissed her. Probably shocked her, but it was the right thing to do. I caught up as much as we could, and I told her I only had a few minutes because I gave "My Word", and had other plans. But again, Marie is a No Harm, No Foul Friend!!

I picked up Renee B, and met up with Lori C and her friends at Rock Falls Tavern.

It's been such as long time, a life time even, since we first met. We were always friends, I was always a shoulder, always a voice of reason?, always just an oyster, that found you a pearl. "why can't we be--more than friends" during that one cook out. Just loving to listen to you sing. Marie, You were the bomb, you are the Bomb!! You were a true long distance friend. I look forward to talking to you more, and catching up. Friends like you, are hard to come by, and I hope we can communicate and stay in touch. I don't need to hope, because it's a given. voice recognition software program

I just purchased a new voice recognition software program. It allows me to talk into the computer and have the words that I say appear on the screen. So far, everything is coming out exactly as I say it with out typos or other errors.

This program is extremely cool, and should help with productivity, and those nasty grammar and typo errors.

I've not touched the keyboard once, and this is like really really cool Dude!!

It even recognizes the word the dude!

An MSN executive is defending Microsoft's rebranding of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) into "Web feeds" after a flurry of Microsoft bloggers accused the software giant of trying to recast the Web-site syndication technology in its own image.

In a recent post on his Web log "Torres Talking," Mike Torres, MSN Spaces lead program manager, made a clear distinction between the branding of the RSS technology and the underlying technology itself. He also said that Microsoft is adding its own functionality to RSS in the version the company is implementing in Internet Explorer 7. Because of this, its renaming of RSS is not a sign the company is trying to remake the technology for its own purposes but rather a way to make a distinction between RSS and a feature of IE.

RSS is primarily used by Web loggers and Web-based news publishers to keep subscribers informed when new Web log entries or news articles have been posted to Web sites. Microsoft is adding RSS functionality to the next version of Windows, Windows Vista, primarily through the IE 7 version of its Web browser. Both Windows Vista and IE 7 betas are available now.

"Just because one team at Microsoft [in this case, the IE team] is grappling with the naming of a single feature in a single product [that does a lot more than just RSS], it doesn't automatically mean we are trying to 'reinvent the technology,' Torres wrote in a Web log posting on August 9.

Making Accusations

Torres was responding to a post the same day by Dave Winer in his Web log "Scripting News" that accused big software companies such as Microsoft and Google of messing with technology they did not invent, a move he called "childish and self-defeating."

"Like it or not Microsoft, the technology is called RSS. If you try to change that, for whatever reason, you will get routed around," wrote Winer, president of Userland Software and a software guru who is credited with pioneering RSS and other Web standards. "Like it or not Google, the format is RSS 2.0.... Go all the way, and just give it up, and accept the gift, the way it was presented, without trying to edit, revise, fold, spindle, or mutilate."

The debate raged on after Torres' response to Winer. In an August 10 entry on his Web log Read/Write Web, freelance analyst and Web writer Richard McManus wrote that he, too, believed that Microsoft and Google should not mess with the brand because "it's bigger than both of them."

However, he admitted that the companies will probably drive the adoption of "feeds" because as the two "biggest Internet companies around," they are extremely influential. And anything that drives RSS into the mainstream is a good thing, McManus wrote.

This and other spirited debate in popular Microsoft-watching Web logs such as Robert Scobel's "Scobleizer" prompted Torres' most recent post Sunday, where he referenced a host of other companies and technologies that call RSS by another name.

In his Web log Torres mentioned Firefox, which calls RSS feeds "Live Bookmarks," and Newsgator Online and Bloglines, which both call them "feeds," in his defense of Microsoft's choice to rebrand RSS.

"Looks like millions upon millions of people are using RSS, the technology, but not RSS, the brand," Torres wrote. "And this was long before IE 7 'Web feeds' were a twinkle in Jim Allchin's eye," he wrote, referring to the group vice president of platforms at Microsoft.

Sparking the Debate

The debate initially sparked when Jane Kim, program manager for RSS in Internet Explorer, posted an entry on August 2 to IEBlog that said Microsoft is calling RSS feeds "Web feeds" in Beta 1 but is open to changing the name to something else. A week later, Google announced that it was adding RSS functionality to Google News, but was calling the RSS functionality "feeds" and not referring to them by the standard name.

Joe Wilcox, senior analyst at Jupiter Research, says there is no harm in rebranding RSS into a term that is more palatable for the average Web user to digest, comparing it to more generally accepted terms for scientific designations.

"In entomology, there's a classification of insects called Lepidoptera, but most people know them as butterflies," he says. "There's always going to be a language that is specific to some industry or group, but that doesn't mean it's the same thing that everyone uses."

Indeed, Mike Shaver, founding member of the Mozilla project and technology strategist for the Mozilla Foundation, defended his own group's choice to call RSS feeds "Live Bookmarks" in Firefox by saying the group wanted a better, more mainstream name to emphasize what RSS feeds actually do for a user.

"We wanted to emphasize the utility of the feature [dynamic bookmark folders fetched from a server] rather than the underlying formats [RSS, Atom, etc.]," Shaver says in an e-mail.

Moreover, he says that RSS is a "pretty geeky/technical name for consumer-facing interfaces," and encourages more rebranding of the term.

Still, such a debate begs the question of whether RSS might be better overseen by a generally accepted standards consortium such as the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which oversees another integral Web standard HTML, to preserve the purity of RSS itself.

Originally developed at Netscape Communications in the late 1990s, RSS is currently in the hands of Harvard University, which released it in July 2003 under a Creative Commons open-source license.

However, even those like Winer who question Microsoft's and other companies' motives for changing the branding of RSS think the technology should stay where it is.

"In the end I think they'll do the right thing [with the technology]," Winer says of Microsoft's RSS rebranding moves. "I also don't think we need a standards body. RSS happened outside of the standards bodies for good reasons."

Jupiter's Wilcox agrees. "As long as there's a standard everyone can agree on, it doesn't matter much who the steward is," he says.

Ouch, Ouch and Ouch... I can feel the pain, the GUT wrenching PAIN. It is this person's past, and I am thankful that they have received help.

There is EVIL in this world, it's all around us. How many stories do we see, How many LIVES are effected, effected for generations, upon generations. My ex-wife Ellie told me I had no compassion, funny....because When I let it out,,it destroys me... I feel the pain for the first time, just like I was present or It was happening to me. My Ex-wife went through a lot of pain in her life, I was there to help, but she wouldn't accept it. Everything from her was negative. I can't even recall a single Happy conversation, even if everything was OK, something in the World was Negative. Every thing was a Depressed State.

Negative is Evil, Negative Holds you, binds you. NO matter what...their is HOPE, but if you keep the negatives surrounded by the negatives...What happens? It happened to me, I went from Happy to miserable, to a walking pot of piss and Vinegar because of the NEGATIVES that were force fed to me. What I wanted was love and to be loved, I wanted a conversation, I wanted intimacy via communication. The ex-wife couldn't provide it. Talking to me, or getting her to talk, was like pulling teeth. Was it her past with Various Huge "demons" of abuse, alcohol, drugs, etc., etc?

I forgive her, I probably added to her pain. I am sure I did, But all I wanted was something positive, No matter what I did, she would undercut me, make me feel like nothing. I was a prisoner of war in an emotionally crippling Negative depression existence created by the circumstances.

I digress.

That is all in the past, I dealt with it, I was in depression for 2 years over it, But no More. I got it all out, I cried the tears, I got the long distance Hugs from someone that I needed, to overcome these negative emotions, and In the process, rediscovered the truth. The real truth that has been out their and missing.

"If i didn't know now what i didn't know then"

Is a song by Bob Seager, Running Against the Wing. I have always liked Seager. always have. I can relate to a lot of his songs, through my own experiences and life story.

To me the Line, "If I didn't know now, what I didn't know then" can have a duplicity of meanings, but today 8-13-05, this means:

Life has Hardened our Hearts, Life has put a Defensive shell or protection around out hearts, as to not be hurt like we have been in the past. Seager's statement, is that of like Child Like Faith, If we just could go back before all the Pain, all the Hurt, all the heart ache, and still have that "newbie", "novice" "green" trust. If we could just go back to the feeling without that harden heart, things would be different. If we could just be like we were in the past, washed clean of the heart aches, guilt, depression, and the Shields, Walls, Barriers that are now in place, were not there, we not built up, where never needed. Wouldn't that be something?

The thing is, I always have been that way, Yes I get hurt, but I always have hope, I always offer the heart. It took me two plus years to recover from the Ex-wife, but My Heart is as big as ever.... "The Five Year Detour" I like to call the marriage, did effect me, but I look at all the Positives, rather than the Negatives. It was the negatives that Killed me, so why would I want to think in terms of Negatives.

Ellie...I forgive you, I hope you forgive me. I left you message on the phone, First / last and only time I will contact you, in what 3 years? Whatever.

The main thing to this rant, is that life is too short, There is too too much BAD in the world to left it effect the Good. Sometimes you just have to believe. Sometimes you just have to use your Child Like faith, sometimes Fairy tails do come true. Sometimes, The princess does get a prince. Sometimes Cinderella's slipper is placed back on the foot, and their is happily ever after. Sometimes the world is so small and interconnected, that the Magic just happens. Sometimes the song "It's a Small World After ALL" from the magical world of Disney, does come true.

I guess it all come down to if you are a Negative person or a positive person, if your glass is half full or your glass is half empty. I strive to do good, on a daily basis, I strive to do what's right. My glass is not rose colored either. I see more than most, and I know what some of the footsteps that people have traveled. But.... BUT........BUT there is a way to get back onto the path.........

The Simple things make all the difference, it is the small stuff!!

I hear so many times, don't "sweat the small stuff." I guess it's peoples way of dealing with things that should matter to them, but what else could they do. Are they treated the way they wish to be treated? Do they treat others, the way they wish to be treated?

Don't sweat the small stuff? The small stuff is what matters, the small stuff is the true extension of who we are of what we are as humans. Do we treat others the way we wish to be treated? Do we stop to say thank you, do we do something that is so insignificant to us in the amount of time it takes, ( a small thing) but makes a world of difference in someone else's life. That small thing, that little gesture, that little amount of compassion, that little ray of sunshine and hope, that beacon of Light, the but for the grace of God go I mentality, makes a world of difference.

To think, that one is so wrapped up into there own personal interests, that they don't or can't or are not even aware of the true surroundings, is a shame. We are daily granted mercy, we are daily given a fresh start, we are daily forgiven, by GOD.

Yesterday, I was at Staples. There was a lovely lady that helped me with new business cards. We had a great conversation, we laughed, and joked, and it was a truly "fun" business transaction. Even though that was "small stuff", there was respect, there was common courtesy.

After the transaction, as I was walking out to the parking lot, a lady was struggling to put a big box into her car. I simply asked with a smile do you need help? She said no, and continued to handle the box. She had it covered, got it into her car, then with a nice smile told me thank you. That was a "small thing", but it did make a difference.

In this day an age of violence, degradation, evil surrounds us. Everyday on the News you read and hear of vile disgusting events. The are increasingly heinous. Our world is full of mistrust, full of deceit.

The "small things", a simple smile to a stranger, the common courtesy we show others, how we interact with LOVED ones, DOES MATTER. Our hearts are what make us Tick, literally and figuratively. Our brains make us react. If the small things are not present, if the small things of respect, the small things of understanding, the small things of communication, and empathy, intimacy, caring, are not present, then what is really present?

If those "small things" aren't your MAJOR THINGS, then you just might want to reevaluate your current situation. The so called "small things" are the positive things in your life, they are tiny nuggets of golden and honest emotions, they are the things that get you through the day, they are the God-smack extensions of Hope and Joy. They are the Warm and Fuzzies you get just thinking about things.

So friends, when you tell me "Not to sweat the Small things", I say to you, " If the small things are not relevant, than what is?"

What is relevant? If you have a false bravado, or house of cards emotion, built upon a thought, that is not rooted in trust, truth, and respect, what do you have? Are the actions and the words, and the feeling all in alignment? If they are then the small stuff is in alignment as well. If the small stuff doesn't match the Outward "Named" Scenario, then guess what, that outward Named scenario is False.

All things must be in alignment for truth to be truth, for LOVE to be LOVE.

You see in 2001 I got married on my birthday, and the marriage went sour, I am man enough to take the blame, I was man enough to stick it out, and I am man enough to forgive. I am thankful for her, because she introduced me to GOD. For that I am eternally grateful.

Today as I was driving to the bookstore, to get a gift or two for someone, the thought of the ex popped into my head. It wasn't that of anger, it wasn't that of pain, it wasn't that of remorse or even guilt. I dealt with all that several weeks ago, with the help of a truly special women. I think it was just another one of my tests. Here you go Eric let's lob this one at you and see how you react. Well, my heart was that of compassion and forgiveness. I didn't expect that.

So, I forgave her in my heart and prayed for her forgiveness. Thought that was the end of it...Yeah right. My Sister gave me a new Wallet for my Birthday, so a little while ago I was transferring all the info. There was the lawyers card, and a mailing address and phone number for the ex. The phone number I thought was for friend she was staying with. My heart decided to call and get a message to her, asking for her forgive and that I pray for her. This is not from past feelings, just human kindness.

I dialed expecting to find or have the answering machine of the friends. It was her voice mail. Wow, that was unexpected. So I asked for forgiveness, I wished she was happy, and I thanked her for showing me the way to God, and For that I was eternally grateful. Which I am.

Strike another Victory in the Eric Column, and thank you GOD...you always know. It just feels good to let that go once and for all, with no strings, no ties. I am sure when she hears it, it will make her feel a little better as well, that all she tried for was not in vein.

See God knows how to heal hearts. I just am thankful, that he gave me the strength to be man enough to follow through, and let that burden die.

You see God, is in each of us, he is that small voice of reason, he's your conscience, he's your pal, your buddy, YOUR FATHER. He always knows without a shadow of a doubt, what is best for you, even when you don't see the bigger Picture. I always pride myself on being 5-10 moves ahead. So My man G, has to be 30-50 moves ahead of me just to prove a point.

LOL, God....another high Five.

Webmasters: Time to Optimize Your Site! GEO TARGET.

A few months ago I was looking through the search engines to see if my website was even found for certain keywords. Well it wasn’t. I knew something needed to be done, because I was losing potential customers to my Martial Art and Self Defense Classes. As the Internet grows exponentially, the important of a web presence is important.

After reading countless articles, spending hours optimizing every aspect of my site, I finally started to see the results. Targeted geographical keywords hit # 1 in Google. The name of my company has over 9 million references on keyword searches for that name and My url is currently number 7 out of 9 million. Not bad huh?

Well lets take a minute to discuss the basics of SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Search engines like Google, MSN, and Yahoo use spider-web crawlers to seek out text content of WebPages. Spiders also follow links both internal to a site and external of the site to gather their information. The information they gather is used and to create the information you see when you do a search in a search engine. A complex logarithm based upon textual content, keyword density, inbound and outbound links, alt text, meta tags, etc are used to determine the SERP’s (Search Engine Results).

Step one to Optimize is reviewing your Meta Tags. Meta tags tell the search engines spiders what information to report, rather than the spider guessing. Review your meta tags for Title, Description & Keywords.

Your Title should be somewhat descriptive of you website or product, rather than jus the name of the company. Instead of Joe’s Dojo as the title of the site, it should be something like Joe’s Martial Arts Dojo in XYZ, USA. This title will also act as a “keyword” to match a search engine inquiry for “Martial Arts XYZ USA”.

The Meta Description should also use significant words to describe your style, geographical location, as well as the name of your website. This description also acts as “keywords” to match a search engine request.

Keywords are words that you wish your site would be referenced when someone does an Internet search engine inquiry. Your keywords should phrases that include geographical locations. Instead of Self Defense as a Keyword, the phrase “Self Defense Your city” will be more effective an appropriate. People 1000’s of miles away form your location will not be taking classes at your location. Your goal is to maximize and be # 1 for your geographical area. Regardless if you have no direct local competition, search engines will create competition for you if in the real world none exist.

Once the Meta tags are optimized it time to review the content of your page. Website with tons of picture and graphics and smaller amounts of text content, may look nice, but are not search engine friendly. If you have java scripts, tons of graphics, and few words then you need to re-design your page. The more words the better, the more KEYWORDS that you can naturally included in your content even better. Spread the graphics to other pages. Your homepage should be content rich, graphic light, and summarize your “product”.

Once you have a well written, keyword friendly content on your site, must make sure the internal linking and navigation is optimized. The entire website should have a site map, that is linkable from each page. Additional WebPages should have natural linking between topics and links back to the homepage. These Internal Links should be descriptive. Instead of classes, it should be “self defense classes” etc. Links and the wording of the links are the most important aspect in order to achieve your goals.

Finally after your web page is internally optimized, your focus must shift to external sources to improve your results via search engines. Here are several Key steps

1)Submit to DMOZ (Open Directory Project). Submit only once. It may take 6-9 months before you get listed, but wait 6 months before submitting again.

2)Submit to “free search engines”, do this manually rather than the “submit to 10K for X $”

3)Look for link exchange partners to do reciprocal links.

4)Write and submit articles.

5)Use signature tags in all emails, Forum post etc that include your URL.

6)Keep updating content, adding new pages, and getting links.

If you follow these basics, do additional research on the term SEO, then your website will be seen in the search engines, increase your web traffic and your website could bring you customers to your Location.

Niche Web Sites Do Not Have To Be Small

I've been marketing for a long time now and I have seen a disturbing trend with niche web sites. Many e-books and so called experts are advocating that you should have a mini-site to promote your affiliate products or digital delivery goods.

Well, that is a great idea if you never expect to have a search engine find your site, or a reason for visitors to ever return. I mean if I wanted to read ads all day I would just read a magazine. I want fresh content and valuable services for my time.

I also want my browsing time to be a little more effective. By that I would visit your site probably 20 times this year if you provided me the services I needed.

I'm going to give you an example of a great niche site that you can turn around a create today. Are you familiar with Xara? Xara provides several web development and design tools. I have found their products to be a great help in my design and development niche sites.

Off the bat, the important thing is I know a lot about Xara. I own their products and use them all the time. In other words I have the makings of a great content driven, USEFUL website.

Since I am familiar with the products I can write real reviews, real tips, and make informed suggestions.

I would start off with a review of Xarawebstyle4 (You can see a sample review here: http://www.groupmarketingsolutions.com/productv/review/15.php ).

Now I wrote that to add content to another site, but it only took a few minutes, and Xara provided the graphics.

Since Xara has dozens of products, about 3 hours would give me an awesome website that is helpful and generates revenue. Once I had the reviews all done, I could then start adding tips and tricks to the websites. Or even review other websites that were using Xara to design their graphics.

If I wanted to promote other graphic programs that had affiliate programs it's an easy change to include them as well.

So you have a choice when your creating a niche website. You can put up a one page website that you will have to continually promote, or you can build a massive website that you can grow every day or every week. With some link building and basic SEO your larger niche site is going to give you more revenue for your effort, and be cheaper to promote

A Round of Destiny Basketball

Today my will was shaken, rattled and rolled. Today I questioned, today I wavered. Today I didn't hear. Today I wondered what happened. It was not my day, but I didn't know it, it was my day of Peace.... It took a round of Destiny Basketball to figure it out.

In my youth, basketball was my favorite sport, I though it was my best, just because I defied the odds, I defied the size weight ratio, stereotype.

As I walked unto the court for the first time in over what a maybe 7-10 years, give or take. I remember a few of my rituals or rules. I would always pay my respect to the God's of the Court. No man can come onto another man's court and not pay tribute, show respect. It was just how it was done. I started with the with feel of the ball, the simple put backs, to shake of the rust, to regain the feel or the ball, the angles of the rim, the bounce the backboard, the site of the ripped net.

It was a ritual, once you gave respect and had the feel, then you could venture further from the rim, and take a few shots. Get the feel, feel the rotation, off your finger tips, keep the follow through. The mechanics never leave you, the visualization never leaves you, the creativity never leaves you. The mind and the body must be in harmony in order for the mechanics to work.

Their was much rust, but the moves started to slowly just flow, the song came to my mind, the spring came to my step, 20 years were now no more, in my mind. Now no more in my body. The moves were just as fluent, the speed and quickness and creativity were still their, THE ZONE was back. You remember the ZONE. In it, everything was possible, If you put it up, it went in, you could feel it go in as you released it. The ZONE, where your hang time lasted just one split second more, than usual, just enough for the impossible to become possible. Awe the ZONE.... I was in the zone, one on one with the God's of Basketball. I was not aware of my surroundings, I was fluid movement, grace of action, confidence all things and knowing all things were possible in the ZONE. It didn't matter if every shot went in or not, I would say 40% found the bottom of the net. It was the movement in the ZONE, it was the belief in the zone, that it was going to drop.

Little did I know their was an audience, time to step it up a notch, more creativity, more songs in my head, more confident bounce in my step. The audience needed to see the ZONE. Whether for just a glimpse of this 40 year old man, playing like a 20 year old with the moves of a cat like quickness of a teenager and the creativity and fluid motion of flowing water.

I was in the zone. the song lyrics where familiar but distant. "hot child, summer in the city, back of my hand, looks so pretty"...Whatever, probably not even the real lyrics, buy the back of the hand part was important. Because that was the last thing seen as the ball spun through the air on it's way to the bottom of the net. Some times from 3 point range, some times from beyond that, sometimes a shake and bake moves driving to the hoop with a crossover and stop and pop. Creativity, grace, the ZONE.

Took many breaks, because the wind was not their, but the legs were their, the body responded, the mind never left, heart knew the zone, the mechanics were their. It was just matter of getting back into the zone, the right way.

The ZONE never leaves, it;s always there, it;s just a matter to doing the right things to get into the ZONE. You remember don't you? The ZONE.

As I walked off the court, I took the imaginary shot, and double tapped the two fingers to signal the points, prior to the imaginary shot going though the rim. You always pay respect to the source.

Thank YOU GOD, for reminding me once Again. Thank you for my DAY of rest.. Thank you for keeping all the distractions away, so you and I could Just play another round of HOOPS together like we did so many years ago... YOU always KNOW exactly what this old boy needs and needed, exactly what I need at the time. Exactly....always....never fails.... Even when I fail YOU, you left me back into the ZONE!!!!!!

"The Five Year Detour"

Out of frustration, out of pain, out of sorrow, out of patience, out of will, just empty. I got into the car and drove. No destination, No true plan. I had one hell of an argument in the car, just me and my inner-self. :) Still don't know who won that battle, but is a war :)

As fate, destiny, GOD, serendipity, karma, etc., would have it. I landed at Rock Falls Tavern. The place were I detoured almost five years ago today. It was at that place, that I veered off my path, my purpose, my will, and my Joy and Peace took a different road. A true road less traveled then most, but a road to redemption, as road to salvation, a road to discovery. I am grateful for the road that I did travel, even though the pain and suffering sometimes still lingers. I was married and divorced on that Road.

Again, God works in mysterious ways, and brought BIG_E back to the point where it all started. It was a true test of Will, and Faith, and by the Grace of GOD, I passed.

I had given up smoking 2-3 days prior, and I was in a Smoke filled bar. Didn't smoke! -Passed.

I ran into some old friends that I had not seen in 5 years, some had been friends for 15, we picked up the conversation right were we left off. No Harm No Foul.

The conversations were at times intense, the who, what, where, when's and the Y's were all cliff-note summaries. Some of the times the "songs" remained the same, the stage was the same, just the players and the notes slightly different.

They say you can't go back. But I did. I went back with a better understanding, a better vision, a better scope on the grand scheme of things. I believe I made a difference.

I was able to see manifestations, based upon simple principles, Godly Principles. It wasn't me, but it was. It was God working through me. So it was me :)

That was what I needed to see. I need the flesh and blood proof, to witness with my own eyes once again, the seeds producing, the seeds harvesting.

I was known as Big_E there, I walked in a Big_E, I caught up as BIG_E, but Eric rose to the top. It was Eric that made the difference.

There was one truly amazing individual there, last night as well. This person had me perplexed. This person knew, but didn't. This person hinted, but didn't. Through minor conversations, throughout the evening, the 3 minutes nuggets, the brief glances, the actual holding of the hand, and the eventual breaking of the "wills." There too was a break through, a "word" for that person, Prayer over that person in public, in a smoke filled bar room. That person received what they needed. That person was the reason for the "trip." I know I will speak to that person again.

I came into the place as BIG_E, I blessed as many as possible, I walked out as Eric, confident, humble, and knowing that It was a test, and I passed.

"They" say you can't go back. I think "they" mean as it was prior, but you can go back and make a difference based upon your own experiences with Faith and Grace and a Pure Loving Heart.

Hope and Expectation----Your one small step

I never know where my writing will lead, I just ask for a topic, and it appears, I open up a blank email, and begin to type. Today's topic appears to be Hope and Expectation.

Wow,

Hope and expectation, they are two terms that are interconnected in meaning, but totally different in usage. Hope is a wish, a dream, Faith, it is a belief, it is an adjective, it is objective & subjective. Hope is an emotion, a feeling, and sense of longing, a crack in the ice of a frozen pond of dreams. Hope restores, Hope builds, Hope is a combination of Love and Faith.

Expectation is an action word, it is a movement, it is a step, a step in a direction. A direction lead by, lead by your Hope, your faith, your emotions and feelings. Expectation is also a powerful force, movement! Movement, the widening crack in the ice of the frozen pond of your dreams.

The expectation-movement, lead by your Hope & Faith, sheds a light, a force, GOD, onto the situation. The LIGHT reveals the crack, the LIGHT defines the crack, The LIGHT shows the entire situation. The Hope, leads to a movement, and expectation, the LIGHT makes the crack in the ice, larger and larger, melting the Ice, revealing more and more. The dreams, the visions, the hopes are now more and more visible, the have breath, they have Oxygen, the breathe a life of their own. The Dreams, the Hopes, the Faith is now a possibility, that possibility is really just a reality waiting to happen.

Your Expectation or Movement is what takes the hope, the dream, into the Light, into the possibility, into the reality.

Take your steps, make your dreams a reality. It all starts and ends with your simple step....a baby step,,,one small step....a life time of happiness awaits...one step....then another, then a giant step, then a leap, then, then, then, The reality!!!!

Time & Faith & Love

With a title like that Eric, you better have something profound to say. Honestly, the way my writing works, is I get a topic, and then just see where the "spirits" take me. I start with an open email, so that I can spell check after words, I rarely if ever go back to check the "written word." So let's see, the topic is Time, Faith & Love....wow, Eric you picked a dousy this time.....

All of our lives, we have certain expectations, certain feelings, certain dreams, certain aspirations, certain thoughts. They are personal, and usually they are private. We view the world, our world based on those experiences, emotions, and what we have been through.

Was our childhood something that effects our behavior, or attitudes today? Did a past "HURT" still effect us today? Did a relationship turn sour, and it effects us Today?

How you answer those questions, is a manifestation of your current situation. Let me say that again...that was important... HOW you answer those questions, is a manifestation of your current situation. Your perceptions, your feelings, your attitude, shape, mold and are responsible for your current situation.

Have you forgiven yourself for past hurts, past transgressions? Have you forgiven those that transgressed? Are you holding in, holding up, keeping past hurts, so tightly wrapped, inside that it still effects you?

Well, does it still effects you, then you are still held back by those things.

I guess it is time for me to confess,

14 days ago, my journey took me to the path of a certain person. I didn't expect it. It was not planned. Our paths crossed. But because our paths crossed, I am a different person today, than I was yesterday, than the day before that, and the day before that. You see, that person was just like me, in a hurting environment. Our pains were different. but equally intense. I desperately wanted to help this person. I desperately needed to help this person. In my need to help, I got helped. Faith & Love Heals. GOD Heals. I experienced a true breakthrough. The holy spirit, washed me clean, I finally got it. LOVE & FAITH....and prayer, opens the door for GOD to move.

I wept like a baby the week prior, hearing the stories, exchanging my stories, the caring, and just pure true emotions, and pure "Human Love" for this other person. I desperately wanted to help, I desperately needed to help. They helped me, as I helped them, But finally, with just a simple question. I was forced to go back to GOD. To truly ask him for his help. I knew it all along, but didn't acknowledge the true source. I didn't "seek ye first the Kingdom of God in all things". I prayed, I wept, I cared, I loved. I extended faith....true faith...then

BOOM, and it happened,,, It happened to me, for me....I am a new and better person. I have no guilt, I have no shame, I have no unforgiveness, I have no negatives in my heart. Daily I pray, daily I give the glory to the true vine, that of the father the son and the holy spirit.

The feeling is glorious. I am free. I have stopped smoking cold turkey. I am healed, and I am washed clean. The other person has been helped as well.

Faith, TIME and LOVE heals all wounds, Faith and LOVE move Mountains. Faith and LOVE are the Keys to God's kingdom. Ask and ye shall receive. Believe it in your Heart, Confess it with your mouth, and you will be Saved. You will feel the power and glory of God.

Daily, I walk my path, asking God to order my steps, and ask God for Favor, that a workman is worthy of his hire, and that tithes, and seed time and harvest are principles that cannot be denied. I extend my faith. I expect my harvest. I can believe God for all things, With God and Love their is No Lack.

That is my testimony.....I guess that is what needed to come out today this 14th day since meeting the someone, that changed my life for the better. WOW simply WOW.

Faith + LOVE = God's Mighty Hand

Prayer + Faith + LOVE = A move of God's Hand

Truth + Prayer + Faith + LOVE = A Life altering Change- a miracle- a transformation

Those little moments that make you say WOW!!!

So many times during the day I come across something that makes me think, and ponder. Each thing in it's own right, has a definition, a thought, a feeling. What it means to me may be totally different from what it meant to me the last time or the time before that.

The thought process wraps itself around the concept, and a visual is created, that visual invokes a feeling or emotion. That emotion can be joyous or sad. I let the sad emotion slip away, because there is no room to let that sadness effect me. I do have a heart and compassion, but I can't let all the sadness effect me. I can pray, I can empathize, I can feel, but I must let the sadness pass, or it will effect me negatively. It will creep into me, and make me less effective.

There are times I look a back at the same thing, that gave me a sad emotional feeling or visual. But now I see it in a new light, there is new clarity. That old sadness emotion, is now explainable, that which was unexplainable it now explainable. It makes Sense to me. NOW.

I can see it for what is was, I can see it and how it effected me, I can see why it effected me. I am learning and growing daily, we all are. We all have had problems in the past, but if we dwell on them, to much, they will keep us bound. We need to see those things for what they were, and not for what they are. They are things in the past that make us Who we are today. They can no longer hold us. They can make us feel, but is that feeling the same? Is it really? Don't stay trapped into that old feeling. Look at it with new understanding, look at it with experienced eyes. Look at it with no feelings of Shame or Doubt. Is it really the Same?

Daily I have these WOW instances where I can see something that I felt one way in the past, but now completely different today. I look at it with eyes wide open, I look at it as part of me, but not what makes me. It is an extension of who I am, but it doesn't HOLD me like it used to. I grow, I live I learn, So do you..

Don't let the negative "emotions or feelings" of the past keep you bound. Look at them with eyes of understanding, look at them with eyes of experience, look at them with eyes of compassion. Look at it as something that can no longer Hurt your, or make you feel bad. It is just a thought..... Change your mind, that thought isn't really who you are today. It was in the past, it is part of you. But it doesn't control you, unless you let it.

Daily the WOW's appear, and I see things for what they are. There is an explanation, there is a rhyme and a reason, there is a purpose for what has transpired.

Our Needy Nature and Insecurities

We always attempt to put our best foot forward, think positive and hope and pray for good results. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies, our little insecurities get the best of us. Our nature, our needs, are a driving force of who we are, who we are as people.

We live, we love, we experience, we grow, we learn. Thankfully each and everyday is a new day, a new chapter in our journey. A new day to experience, a new day to reflect, a new day to look forward to life's little and funny twists.

Our insecurities however, attempt to make that new day, that new experience, that new thought, just a little bit less bright, less hopeful, less joyous, less.

How we handle our own insecurities, and those of others is what is important. If we learn from our past, if we are able to realize them, and know what they are, then we can deal with them. Then we can communicate our thoughts effectively, rationally, and know that our insecurities cannot hold us back. The are a part of us, but they are a weak part. It is what makes us human, it is what makes us LOVE, what makes us Laugh, what makes us, just us. If we are able to know our insecurities, and deal with them in a rational manner, then we are able to overcome our insecurities. To understand our insecurities. To be able to make them no longer insecurities, but rather securities. Only we know who we are, only we know what we have been through, only we know..

However, if we deal with these little transgressors, these little interpersonal demons, and know what they are, can express what they are, then the battle is half over. Our insecurities, can now turn into positives. They really are not insecurities, they are who we are, they are what we are. It is how we think about them, how we deal with them, that makes them insecurities. To know them, to see them as what they are, is the first step. To be aware, is the way to change them from insecurities, to securities.

Being confident, that those things are what you are, they make you who they are, they are a part of you. There is no insecurity...it is just your mind attempting to play or feed on things of the past.

Know the things about yourself, make you the person you are today. Those things are why you are the person you are today. They are not your insecurities. The are in reality, your soul, your mind, your spirit. It is who you are, it is how you were made.

It is just how you think about them that makes them insecurities, whereas they are really in essence your Securities. Change your mind, change your attitude, and those things you thought held you back are really the things that will move you forward.

Google, Adsense, SEO, and how it all works.

Google uses an algorithm to determine the search engine results (SERPS). The algorithm is based upon certain factors that include keyword density, Meta Tags, anchor tags, image tags, back links, etc etc etc.

If your site is optimized for specific keywords than you will rank better in the search engines. There are many factors but onsite optimization is a must. You can research and fine out the information yourself or hire and SEO. I have put together some Free Basics on www.seo4dummies.com

Overture shows you the bid price of certain keywords. Wordtracker show you the amount the term is searched. You can use www.nichebot.com a free tool to see all this at once.

Adsense / Adwords.

Google Adwords have a bid price to display certain “keyword terms”. Think of Adwords as TV commercials. Webmasters can put Adsense on there websites. Think of Adsense as the TV Program. If a viewer of your webpage clicks on one of your ads, you get a commission. That commission is based upon the price of the Adword. Google keeps about 60% of the bid price and passes about 40% to the webmaster or Adsense account.

The way the Adsense ads are displayed is determined by the Keyword Density of your individual sites. If you site is prominently about “say Dogs” then the Adsense will display ads about Dogs. However, Google in its new business model is now tracking IP numbers and providing more local ads. Think of the local TV commercials. They are not as expensive as the National Ads. Therefore you may have local ads that are displayed on your site that have only a$0.03 payout rather than a $5.00 payout.

If you optimize you site for your theme, or content, then you can generate more traffic to you sites based upon your keywords. The Google Adsense, will display ads relevant to your topics. If they are not displaying ads to our topic, then you must adjust your Density of your keywords in the body of text of the page.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of changing your website, so that it is spider friendly. If your site is brand new it will take a few months for Google to index your site and be visible in the SERPs. This is known as the “Google sandbox theory”. Aged sites should already be indexed as long as the site has something for the spiders to grab. Excessive graphics, java scripts, PHP sessions are all not spider friendly.

To get spiders to come to your site often and grab your data, you must have links from outside websites to your site. This is the Coveted Page Rank factor. Page rank is only a factor of the amount of incoming and outgoing links to your site. Only a small percentage of Page Rank is attributed to the Google Algorithm for Search Engine Results at this time.

Spiders follow links, once there are links established the spiders will Crawl, your sites. They will gather minimal information. Several Weeks to months later, the spiders will Deep crawl you site and index all that is available. To speed this process along, back links or links to other sites is a must. The more links the spider can travel to get to your site the better. Linking to like minded topics is always best. You don’t need to buy LINKS. You can acquire links via posts in forums, writing and submitting articles, using a Blog post, submitting to SEO friendly directories.

To view the spider activity on your site, first go to your traffic stats. Look for the googlebots. See how often they come and the amount of data they have “grabbed”. You can also go to Google itself and if you are indexed view the Cache of your page. That cache date is a good indication of the last true crawl of your site.

To see if you are indexed go to Google and type in the search box, site:www.yourwebsite.com ( make sure the word site is not Capitalized and you replace he words your website with your actual URL). View the results. You should also repeat the process and this time leave out the www. , and just enter the site:yourwebsite.com Sometime webmasters leave out the www., but then look for Google using the www. Or link to sites using the www. Either way is fine, just pick one version and be consistent with www. Or non www throughout your website career.

As the spiders come to your site they will start to grab information, that information is sorted and returns the SERPS. Did you know that there are different DataCenters throughout the world that Hold that information? If you ask a friend on the say East Cost to search for a term and tell you where you site is in the SERPS, they result on the West cost may be completely different. As much as 5-10 or more positions depending on the activity of that keyword.

What is it all about?

Life is a constant battle of emotions, the little joys, the subtle downturns. Emotions are what make us human. They control us, they are personal, private, public all rolled into one. How we handle them is an individual battle, they can distract us, they can encourage us, they can lead to great things, or lead to a path of destruction. It is an endless cycle and endless game. It is what makes us, it is what we humans exist upon.

Emotions, Passion, Intrigue, Romance the simple joys of life. Isn't that what we all deserve and want? Isn't that what makes the world just a little bit smaller, a little less cold, a little less impersonal, a little less...?

How we deal with emotions is a personal issue, but emotions effect us, it effects everything about us. A simple song, a scent, a thought can bring up a past emotion that can change our entire day, our entire mindset. It can bring that warm and fuzzy feeling, the "perma grin" smile on our face, the joy & happiness or conversely bring tears to our eyes and moments of sadness and depression.

That single simple object we saw, the sound we heard the scent we smelled, evokes a thought. That thought pulls up an emotion. That emotion hopefully is one of glee, one of simple gladness and joy, one that helps us make the day just a little bit better.

The negative emotions are crippling, they cause us to do and act and feel things logically we would never ever even think about. They lead to quick responses, they lead to decisive knee jerk reactions. We hopeand pray that the things we do are effective and positive, but the emotional side can cause more trouble than the original issue.

How do we deal with it?

Do we count to ten? Do we over-analyze everything? Do we re-analyze everything yet one more time, hoping that a new piece of information will be the decisive peice we need to make a complete and conscious decision?

Do we depress our emotions, and hold them back, bottle them up, as to not feel? Do we keep them and only share them with someone in a private manner? Or do we express it to the world! Do we climb to the top of the mountain and say This IS ME.. this is WHO I AM?

Losing Focus- Simple but Wonderful Distractions

Since many of us work on line, our time is our own. We make our own schedules, we make our own time. Keeping focused and setting guidelines is almost mandatory to be productive. How much of our time is really focused on the Job, our Jobs, Our Online Business jobs?

Do you schedule a certain amount of time in advance? Or do you just take things as they come? I usually have a full plate of work, each and everyday. In the mornings it's normally reviewing emails, and answering client questions, or accepting new projects. This can take several minutes or several hours depending upon the scope.

Every morning I attempt to plan out what, and exactly what I want to accomplish by my Days end. It is always a goal and I set it higher than I can ever possibly reach. I do this so that I don't slack off. I am goal oriented, so it's a pride thing to tackle and accomplish my lists.

What I don't get to or finish, becomes the top of the next days list.

Throughout the day, I have to prioritize my lists of things to do and be able to multi-task and adjust according to top priorities.

I usually always keep my email accounts open because I pride myself on fast responses to client inquiries and quick response to email requests and business opportunities. I think that helps my business tremendously, because My clients know I am available, they remark often about how quickly I reply. I guess quick replies are not the norm in online business. That may be one of the reasons for my success, besides the quality of work.

There are times however you need that quick distraction to not lose total focus. The personal emails the personal things, but it you let it get too much, you will not be able to accomplish your tasks at hand.

I find my self at times just having to close everything down and just get the work done. Usually in the evening time for me, is the most productive. Although, I have clients from around the world at all different times zones, contacting me, I do have to select times that are just for the tasks at hand.

How much time to you really actually work, when you are on line? I can be in front of the computer, if not dealing with offline clients and appointments for 12-15 hour stretches. How much of that time is actually productive? I am good about focusing on my task so I would say on average a 12-15 hour online shift results in about 10 hours of actual productive work.

How do you manage your time, and stay focused on your tasks, goals, and needs?

I do enjoy the simple distractions just like the rest of us, some are more special than others, but if I let it get out of hand, then I am not being productive. There are days when my plate starts out light, but by midday, late afternoon the amount of work becomes un-daunting.

I do work on weekends for now to accomplish task for my clients. They come first and foremost. What do you do to keep focused?
